Beauty is...! PTA Reflections Program

PTA REFLECTIONS PROGRAM IS ON ITS WAY. Dodge Elementary is proud to emphasize the arts in education. PTA is sponsoring the Reflections program. Student works are judged on artistic merit, creativity, and theme interpretation. The categories include literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography, and film/video production. The theme this year is ! All entries are due by October 14,2009. Applications have been sent home.

2009-2010 National PTA Reflections Program

Once again, Dodge Elementary emphasizes the arts in education by sponsoring the PTA Reflections program.  Join students across the nation as they create art entries based on this year's theme:   "Beauty is...".

Note:
•·        There are six (6) categories for entry:

•1)    Visual Arts* - print, drawing, painting, collage, etc;  maximum art size 24"x30" (size limitation includes a mat)
•2)    Photography* - maximum size 11"x14" (including a mat)
•3)    Literature - fiction or nonfiction;  prose, poetry, or drama also accepted
•4)    Musical Composition - voice, instruments, or a combination of both;  composition should be recorded on CD
•5)    Film/Video Production - student must be the director, screenwriter, and camera-person;  entry to be submitted on
        DVD or CD
•6)    Dance Choreography - choreographed dance composition recorded on DVD

* Winning local entries will be matted and shrink-wrapped by Dodge PTA for county submission.

•·        Entry deadline for submission to your teacher is October 14, 2009.   Late entries cannot be accepted.

•·        Student works are judged on artistic merit, creativity, and theme interpretation.  Remember, this year's theme is
         "Beauty is...".  All entries must be the original work of the student. 

•·        Awards are given at the local, state, and national levels.  In addition, all participants will receive a coupon for a free
           snack/ice cream!

•·        Detailed contest rules can be obtained from your child's teacher, or at
           www.alabamapta.org/community/reflections.html.   ALL entries must have a completed entry form attached

We are still needing parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles ,etc. to join PTA.  Dodge has had 18 consecutive years of 100% membership.  A family membership (two adults) is only $8.  Corporate memberships are $40 and we will list the company in our yearbook.  PTA is responsible for providing many of the great programs and events that our students enjoy.  We need all of your support in helping to keep our school the #1 school in the county!  Thanks to all of those who already joined; we appreciate your support.

Yearbook ads and friendship lines are available to purchase.  The prices are as follows:  Whole page ad - $100, half page ad - $50, quarter page ad - $25 and Friendship Lines (up to 5 lines) - $5.  If you have pictures of your child's class, please let us know so we can include them in the yearbook.
