Recipient of Jeniece Riley Memorial Scholarship

     Janet Leffard, PACE teacher, is one of six recipients of the seventh-annual Jeniece Riley Memorial Scholarship. The teachers were recognized at the Alabama Humanities awards luncheon reception in Birmingham.
       The scholarship offers an opportunity for teachers to enhance their teaching about Alabama/American history and to encourage civic involvement by students in their community. Ms. Leffard is creating traveling footlockers to be used at Dodge and throughout the school system with items about World War II and the USS Alabama.
     We are proud of Ms. Leffard for receiving this scholarship and her initiative in the USS Battleship project.
